The tone of the reply say a completely different thing  Very Happy  Very Happy   …anyway I really enjoy reading your posts and replying them just because it is full of childish fantasy and gibberish.

It is very clear you have no answers to the questions, and just as usual you are running away Very Happy  ..

Oh really… Smile  err ..sorry but some of the links contain POSTERS in PDF Format…amusing way to validate your posts and gain knowledge..!!!!

They are of such low grade and terribly miserly which clearly depicts your inner soul. Once in another thread I gave you all the good words you wanted in this world by calling you a great Buddhist and a splendid Academic (remember, I was polite not to even use inverted commas!!). But still you don't show any kind of contentedness. Some people never grow up - best thing is to leave them alone.

This is really funny dude!  Very Happy  …and you talk about growing up eh??  This is a public forum and no one expects your authorisation or opinions about others. And no one give a sh..about it either. A piece of advice ….stick to the point, stop smoking exotic stuff, and don’t take anything personally…I think you have problem with a big ego..and if you cant stand the criticism get lost! Have a nice day!  Very Happy

If you put two Einsteins together into a room, one would expect productivity to quadruple.

God has programmed a cap for human achievements during creation.
Basically, human beings grouped together can never outsmart God, unless if you hire an effective manager from the west.

Post who owns your DNA
This is an interesting article about the era of Celera genomics (running a rat race with HUGO project) spearheaded by Venter. Some of the info here is out dated such as the number of genes in the human genome, yet it may be an eye opener for
those who are not familiar with  molecular biology and bio tech companies.

Quote:
James Watson, who won the Nobel Prize in 1953 for discovering DNA's double-helix structure, resigned as the first director of the NIH genome institute in 1992 in a dispute over whether to patent DNA sequences that a scientist named Craig Venter had discovered. Venter also quit the NIH and formed a gene sequencing partnership with William Haseltine, a Harvard AIDS scientist. Haseltine and Venter now lead competing biotech firms that are racing a government-led consortium to decode vast quantities of human DNA.

Haseltine, Venter and other scientific entrepreneurs have submitted patent applications on millions of bits of DNA, many of whose function isn't clearly understood. The patent office recently raised the bar of knowledge it requires before issuing patents on genes, but Francis Collins, Watson's successor, worries that premature claim-staking on the genome could end up snarling research in legal battles for years.

Dr Sootiya,

So what happened to fact of cellbiology, neuro-endocrinology Neurobiology, DNA-protein interactions ?
If you have so much knowledge could you please enlighten this techie forum how does above related to this discussion.
What we see is lot of emoticons and half phrases from you.
We like to read some good technical comments and why you think those are better than the comments posted here.

 Ok lets begin!...

A human has about 20 – 25,000 genes which make us what we are. All our stubborn, obedient, romantic, creative, aesthetic, heroic, villain, cruel or whatever characteristics are in these genes.

Note how our pundit screws up, talking nonsense.  This is what exactly Francis Galton’s view was (1822-1911 ), who was half cousin of Darwin and a pioneer in EUGENICS. I can forgive Galton but what kind of mouth breather would propose the same after 100 years, in this era of biological advances?? THIS IS COMPLETELY UNSCIENTIFIC. Behaviour may be partly genetic but mainly cultural(meaning constructed and learned) I asked for evidence that show human behaviour is solely controlled by genes, and the pundit ran away.

It is true that we have 20-25K genes but what about the product of a gene? Every gene code for a protein(s) and we have about 100K proteins. That’s is due to a mechanism called  alternative splicing. So the messenger RNA of a GENE may be spliced either leaving out one or several EXONS( the coding part of the gene- gene is made of exons and introns)
Apparently the CUT and PASTE pundit didn’t know this basic biology.  The importance of this is that one gene may give rise to several splice variants and may drive several functions.

And it is not just genes, it is thousands of signalling pathways working together repressing some proteins, enhancing some protein functions, regulating transcription of mRNA and splicing. Then there is epigenetic silencing of genes which are “ABOVE” gene transcription. On top of this there are MicroRNA which are involved in silencing messenger RNA and thereby repressing the transcription of proteins.  All these or several of these regulatory mechanisms work in a given contexts to produce the required outcome.  Now look back and consider our pundits version is anywhere near the reality, even if behaviour is solely controlled by genes??  What ASDEX has presented here is what we called PSUEDO-SCIENCE AND LOT OF WRONG UNSCIENTIFIC nonsense.!

And yeah right!...

Post lies, damn lies and ASDEX's rubbish
Asdex wrote:

If cruelty DNA character is removed from an aesthetic gene, that person will still be a creative artist but without malice (what a joy when compared with our so called artists!!) With only good characteristics left alone, how nice would it be to live on this earth? In my life time that will not happen but I very sincerely wish our future generations will have that pleasure to enjoy!!

What on earth is he talking about?? Cruelty DNA Character?? Does anyone know what this means?? What a load of gibberish!  And what is an aesthetic gene is?? Nucleotides arranged in a way that it will bend the chromosome to take a specific shape ???
Pundit goes on assuming one gene will give rise to artistic skills and cruelty is within that gene???  I don’t know why one should go on and post rubbish like this in a public forum and misinform the whole forum.

People should at least have the decency and courtesy, not to post lies and rubbish when they really don’t know about something.     Laughing  Laughing  Laughing

Post 18th century ??
Asdex wrote:

It would be helpful if we understand that DNA was first identified by a Swiss scientist in 18th century and it took another 100 years for some people to first isolate and define the characteristics of it. likewise,

Is it just thick skull ?? Cool

Quote:
Johan Friedrich Miescher (13 August 1844, Basel - 26 August 1895, Davos) was a Swiss biologist. He isolated various phosphate-rich chemicals, which he called nuclein (now nucleic acids), from the nuclei of white blood cells in 1869 at Felix Hoppe-Seyler's laboratory at the University of Tübingen, Germany, paving the way for the identification of DNA as the carrier of inheritance. The significance of the discovery, first published in 1871, was not at first apparent, and it was Albrecht Kossel who made the initial inquiries into its chemical structure
