TSUNAMI RELIEF IN NORTH AND EAST

A group of students belonging to the Tamil Literary Association, University of Moratuwa, lead by Chandrasegaram Jeyakumaran and his fellow batchmates have started collecting and sending relief supplies to the north and the east. Thier project plan can be found here. This team includes:
  1. C. Jeyakumaran (BSc Eng from Dept of Computer Science and Engineering)
  2. S. Srikailainathan.(BSc Eng from Dept of Electronics and communication).
  3. Gajendran. (BSc Eng from Dept of Civil Engineering).
The LAcNet liaison for this project is Sanjeeva Weerawarana.

  1. January 7, 2005 PST: C. Jeyakumaran writes: I here by forwarded the mail from Mr K . Kajendran which has some photos taken at colombo and the cash acceptance letter

  2. January 7, 2005 PST: C. Jeyakumaran writes: We just received the rest of the amount from Dr Thrishantha. Now the total amount received from LACNET is Rs 571,725.00. I will send you all the accounts details soon. BTW yesterday we sent two lorries with sanitary thing like water tanks, toilets basins and related items to Mullaitivu. [More ...]

  3. January 4, 2005 PST: C. Jeyakumaran writes: Received Rs. 245,500.00 from Dr Thrishantha Nanayakkara (LAcNet sent money to Dr. Nanayakkara). But we purchased medicines in a credit basis yesterday and sent to Mullaitivu yesterday with two guys. Here are the details:

  4. January 4, 2005 PST: C. Jeyakumaran writes: This is the acknowledgement for the aid from LAcNET. It is signed by Dr Indralingham, Senior Treasurer, Tamil Literary Association, University of Moratuwa.

  5. December 31st, 2004: Yestersay night we have sent a vehicle of medicine to Ampara district. There we will work together with the Norwegian volunteer doctors who are conducting several mobile camps there. There was an other vehicle sent to Mullaitivu with the kitchen items and equipments like shovels, knives, etc. [More Photos]
