- On completion of phase 1 work at Tangalle, we
have commenced cleaning of wells in Trincomalee area in towns:
Nalandapura, Kinniya and Nilawelli, since my company has some
infrastructure and personnel in that area.
- We have cleaned 40 wells to date, following
observed
- People depending on well water for their
requirement in most of the area
- The alternative water sources are distant
- Salinity increased in some wells after pumping
- High possibility of bacterial contamination due
sandy soil
- Propose cleaning the wells in area with
additional resources and collection of additional data
